Jeweler Sam Boktor starting working in his father’s jewelry store in Egypt when he was barely able to see over the front counter. That may be why he’s not afraid to touch broken and bruised pieces that other jewelers deem “unfixable.”
Boktor’s 8-year-old repair shop — located in the center of downtown’s teeming jewelry district — is known for taking on problematic pieces and for its slick, made-to-order jewelry. The friendly proprietor, who moonlights at his new store, Galleria Jewelry and Watch Repair at the Glendale Galleria mall, made bracelets for singer Jason Mraz’s 2008 world tour and once crafted a custom wallet chain for Ricky Martin.
Prices range affordable, and Boktor often doesn’t charge for routine cleanings and “simple things.”

Thank God for Yelp and Galleria’s Jewelry & Watch Repairs! ?Today, one of the links on my necklace broke, causing my cross pendant to fall off. ?I was devastated and, immediately, knew I had to get that fixed. ?So, after a quick search on Yelp for a jewelry repair store in Glendale, I found Galleria’s Jewelry & Watch Repairs. ?I called and talked with Mike, whom assured me over the phone that he should be able to repair my jewelry.When I arrived to this store, Mike quickly approached me to offer assistance. ?I showed him the broken link and, as he previously stated on the phone, he stated he could repair the problem. ?Not only did Mike say he can repair it, but he took the time to explain why the link probably came apart, as well as telling me how he would solder the jewelry for repair. ?In less than 30 minutes, I was wearing my jewelry again and it looked brand new because Mike repaired and polished my jewelry.By no means am I materialistic Stainless steel jewelry, but I do value certain items of mine, particularly those of high value. ?Knowingly, Mike perceived that and conveyed his professional knowledge and concern to make me feel more at ease with my jewelry dilemma. ?In addition, I told him that I had a 15% off coupon from Yelp and Mike’s reply was, “don’t worry about that because I’ll give you 20% off”. ?Without a doubt, Mike has gained a new and satisfied customer Stainless Steel Necklaces! ?Also, he designs jewelry too! ?With good service and reasonable pricing, I recommend Galleria’s Jewelry & Watch Repairs!
I’m not a fan of those typical mall jewelry stores where the second you walk inside they’re already asking if you’d like a receipt for your purchase. This place is not one of those.This is a really small shop that’s easy to overlook as it’s nestled behind the annoying Proactiv cart with the TV showing Justin Beiber’s face 24/7. This place is small but very nice and helpful. I came here to have my engagement ring resized half a size down. I came in here with my fiance and were greeted by a nice British man. He explained the process of ring resizing, made sure I was comfortable with what the new size would be, and gave us the price. He asked if the price was okay instead of instantly hacking away at the ring, which was nice.40 minutes later and I had a perfectly sized ring. This place is very efficient and attentive.On a side note, they don’t have a large selection of watches or rings, so I’m not sure if I’d recommend this place for shopping needs. However, if I ever need any jewelry or watch repaired or altered, I’m going here.
dont go here!! whoever gave 5 stars to this place must be a relatives or friends of this very rude & bipolar mike!! i went there w/my bf to re size my ring w/c by the way 100% overpriced & my bf decided to polish his ring ?& unfortunately they broke my bf’s stone & mike made it look that it was my bf fault’s that it broke when he’s got nothing to do while polishing it!! well anyway to make the long story short he said to come back then we did & when we got there he made a scene again & he said it s really busy when no one is there but us!! & he’s just in the internet doing who knows what? when you talk to this guy as if you are talking to a 2 different person same time…he’;s weird & he’s got the nerve to ask; so what’s the problem if he knows already that the problem is that he brokethe stone in the ring & it doesnt register on his brain!! duh! you broke it then that’s the problem & you must fix it to make the customer happy & he even says that he is giving us a favor? for what? such a strange man??& he called 1 day to say that the ring is still not fixed w’/c is not good since its been over a month, then today my bf went there & found out that the ring is fixed & he didnt even called & lastly he is charging ?my bf for the ring that he broke….what a nerve!! dont go here..you’ll waste your money & you’ll be unhappy, unsatistied customer. ?what professional? are they talking about…absolutely not!
Very professional. Very helpful. ?I’m very particular about things and wasvery happy with the results of switching my clip on earrings ?to pierced earrings.I tried Ben Bridge first and the work was very sloppy for the high price. Gallerie Jewelry repair was not only affordable but the work is donevery well. Highy recommended. ?Could not ask for a better experiance.
This is a small place that i like because they are professional about how they approach customers and the respect they deserve. They are also professionals in repairing watches, I had a watch defect on mty favorite watch I took it in and they fixed me right up, they even gave me a discounted price because I was a first time customer. They also have a nice selection of jewelery which is their main product and i would not be surprised if i end up buying jewelery from them. Overall not pricey just right amount, and they are nice people.
I originally went to Galleria to purchase a new chain for a necklace of mine that had been broken. ?I brought the original chain with me for reference, but when I went to jewelry store they had nothing compared to it. ?I couldn’t purchase just any chain Sterling Silver Earrings, it had to be very thin so I could put the diamond back on. The sales lady referred me to Galleria’s Jewelry and Watch Repairs and handed me their 10% off flyer. ?I never considered getting the chain fixed, I didn’t think it could, since it broke midway on the chain. ?I took my silver chain to the repair shop and they soldered it back together. ?The guys working there were super friendly and efficient– ?It only took them 15 minutes to fix my necklace. ?And to make things even better, they repaired the lifting velvet in jewelry box I brought it in, I never asked them to do that, they did it for FREE! ?Talk about going above an beyond. ?The repair only cost $15. ?That’s way better considering I originally when to the Galleria to purchase a new chain that would have probably set me back $100. ?If you’re in the area I highly recommend this place, these guys are great!

My Mother broke one of her strands ?of pearls. Being the OCD that I am, ?I went to the Jewelry mart and interviewed the people stringing pearls. ?I got price quotes and watched them work. ?I love the jewelry mart and could spend all day there. ?I am deeply impressed with people who work with their hands and do it with an artistic flair.Kim is the husband. ?Muyim is the wife. ?Because I love my mother, and I knew how important these pearls are to her 925 Sterling Silver Jewelry, ?I asked each jeweler If I could stay while they were being restrung. ?The people I felt best about were Muyim and Kim Ung. ?I arranged for a day when I had the day off and arrived at opening time. ?July 3 2009. ?I brought a lecture on my IPod which I needed to listen to.Muyim’s children were there. If you know the Jewelry mart, the booths are pretty small. ?The daughter was perhaps 6 and the son was about 4.Miyum put her daughter to work cutting the pearls from their string, with a ?pair of small scissors. ?Each pearl was placed on a tray set up for beading. ?None were lost.Then Miyum strung the string of perhaps 4 stands of silk thread through all the pearls. I was worried this would be like a string of beads with the pearls all sliding around, but Miyum tied a knot between each pearl.. ?This is an art.. ? It took about 3 hours but some of that time the Kim;s were helping other customers. ?I gave their daughter an extra $10 for working so carefully.I wasdeeply ?touched by their care and attention to detail. ?I would go there again.

I have been going to this repair shop for more than 10 years mostly for battery replacements. ?The service is GREAT and the prices and CHEAP.Late hours & open 7 days a week
Omg what a rude rude man. Refused to let me in probably cause I didn’t have blue hair like the rest of his clientele. Then finally let me in and shooed me out in 3 seconds and said he wouldn’t (or couldnt) fix it. Do yourselves a favor and find a jewelry store with better customer service. a smile goes a long way. Stay away!!
I was looking for place to get six watch batteries & three bands adjusted. I looked on Yelp to see who was near me, read the reviews and chose J G Jewelry. Joseph was very kind and attentive. He fixed all my watches in about 20 minutes. I expected to pay nearly $100. Joseph charged me $40. Great Place. This is the old mom and pop shop that I love so much.I customized my fiancee engagement ring from a sketch I made. Turned out better than I ever thought.Then I got a better deal on a nice diamond ?then I could find even online after weeks of research.I’m going back for our wedding bands.

I usually go to Sherman Oaks to have the battery of my watches change but since I’m not in the mood to brave the Friday rush hour traffic, I decided to look nearby for a watch repairman. Luckily, I looked into Yelp and saw good reviews for this place. Josef, the friendly and accommodating older gentleman did a battery change and bracelet resizing of my 2 watches. Battery change = $5, ?Bracelet adjustment = $5. Great service with affordable prices compared to a mall. He was fast and skilled. His shop is a jewelry store as well. Parking is free in the private lot together with other stores.And like the other reviewers say, bring cash as he doesn’t take credit cards. Will definitely be returning here.
Great and polite service from a charming older gentleman who switched the wrist straps on my Nike Imarra Heart Rate Monitor watch for just three dollars. ?Definite recommend for watch repair wholesale jewelry, and the place is actually a small jewelry store as well. ?Don’t forget to take cash as they don’t take credit cards.

I can not think of enough kind things to say about my experience at David K Jewelers. My engagement ring was technically my grandmother’s anniversary band. It’s a special sentimental piece and I wanted to find a wedding band which would compliment it. The band consists of two rows of diamonds on top and tapers to have a thin band underneath. This means that a traditional band will not fit next to it’s irregular shape. David K was very kind to us when I showed him the ring. He was happy to design a band for us. He has a stunning selection of bands to choose from in the store, I showed him a few of my favorites and we sat down and talked about the ring and a design concept. He took a few notes and sketched a design right there on the spot. I could tell that he enjoys his job and takes great pride in his work.My fiance and I said we would go to lunch and think about it. We didn’t even get out of the building before deciding on David K. We had gone to two other places that morning. None of which were bad, they were all good, but it’s different when you speak to a designer vs a sales person. I handed over my grandmother’s ring to David so he could take a mold of the ring. 10 days later we picked up the wedding band. It was even more beautiful than I hoped for. David was very pleased that we love the ring. The new band fits the ring perfectly. It is a perfect enhancement and makes for a beautiful wedding set.
What can I say? David K. Jewelers is AMAZING! Had I not been referred to David who knows what kind of ring I would have given to my wife for her engagement as well as her wedding ring. Both David & Kath are genuinely friendly and helpful.We will definitely be referring them to friends & family in the future as well as for future gifts.It was a true pleasure and I am looking forward to visiting again!
